Service Because We Care
Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.

Jagersbosch Community Care CENTRE
Jagersbosch is a non-governmental, non-profit Community Organisation that delivers affordable, authorised community support services in the Stilbaai, Melkhoutfontein and Jongensfontein areas.
We function under the Older Persons Act and our service to our members conforms to its prescribed norms and standards.
Services
Food Services
Members and guests can book and enjoy a balanced meal every day. A dietician approves all meals. Members and guests can enjoy meals at Die Waenhuis, or you can collect your meals. We also deliver meals at home of disabled or frail persons at a fee.
Healthcare Services
Join Jagersbosch for peace of mind as well as compassionate services provided by committed personnel to ensure a healthier community. Jagersbosch provides primary healthcare to all its members, including a 24-hour emergency call service.
Community Care
The focus here is on community based support care to older persons. They are encouraged to participate in community life and activities. Registered social workers provide emotional support, group intervention for depression, counselling, etc.
Urheim Charity Shop
The Urheim Charity shop offers second-hand clothing in good condition as well as household items for sale. Prices are extremely reasonable. Goods are donated from far and wide and the shop is run entirely by compassionate volunteers.
Melkhoutfontein
Jagersbosch has members in Melkhoutfontein as well. There we provide the same food and health services for our members. We provide for three types of services, namely assisted living, independent living and living with disabilities.
Govermental Projects
We provide services on a contractual basis to the Dept. of Health in Stilbaai, Albertinia, Melkhoutfontein and Gouritsmond. These services include the screening of residents in these regions for HIV, TB as well as other health issues.

Moreover – it is estimated that more than 300 Stilbaai residents have to survive only on a SASSA income. These persons simply do not have the financial ability to pay the Jagersbosch membership fees, or make use of its services.
For that very reason we strive to reach out to these people by subsidising membership fees, meals as well as services. This can only be done, though, by delving into our own funds. Thus, instead of constantly begging for donations, our strategy is to work on raising our membership to 2500.
Facilities
Die Waenhuis
Die Waenhuis and the Soeterus Hall are both available for functions, meetings, celebrations, etc. We offer full catering services for functions and audio-visual equipment is also available. Both venues are equipped with a kitchen that can be utilised by renters.
Melkhoutfontein Facilities
Our facilities in Melkhoutfontein consist of Soeterus (houses for independent living); Stillerus Care Centre (for people classified under assisted living); the Soeterus Hall used for activities; and lastly the Workshop where people living with disabilities learn certain basic arts and crafts.
How can i get involved?
The mere nature of the Jagersbosch Services provides ample opportunity for interested individuals to become involved.
At the helm of each of the different services are qualified and experienced people, but they need assistance in performing the non-professional tasks. You do not need to have qualifications to volunteer your help, all you need is compassion and a willingness and desire to sacrifice your time and energy.
If you are interested in helping in the Charity Shop, dropping off food, helping with functions or caring for home-based persons, please visit or phone our offices at the Jagersbosch Homestead. We seriously depend on caring and able people like you.

Charity Shop
Jagersbosch offers second-hand clothing in good condition as well as small household items for sale. Prices are extremely reasonable. The charity shop is an important way of raising funds and we utterly rely on donations of resalable items from the community and caring people all over.
Fundraising Activities
We arrange a number of standing annual as well as random fundraising functions and events. One of these is the very popular annual Jagersbosch bazaar. Die Waenhuis plays a huge role in fundraising with activities like theme evenings, braai evenings and Friday sales of various delicious food products.
